Protect your desalinization plant with this one weird trick

Now that we're in the era of drone warfare you probably want to protect your critical infrastructure. This means everything needs to be hardened against bombing by drones and also distributed into many different sources so that when one source of water or power is taken out others come online.

The problem is building giant underground facilities is expensive, so I have a solution.

Imagine that you take your desalination plant (or whatever you're trying to build) and you stretch it out like a long noodle so that all the processes can be fit inside a narrow tunnel. Then you call up The Boring Company and have them dig you a cheap tunnel far enough underground so that drones can't blow it up. On one side of the tunnel you have just enough space for a golf cart and on the other side of the tunnel all of your equipment for desalinization. You can build multiple plants inside these cheep tunnels and the tunnels themselves help you deliver whatever resource you're trying to deliver. The wide portion of the tunnel doesn't have to run the full distance and only includes the equipment for your desalinization plant. Once the water is finished you send it through a regular pipe under ground using regular horizontal boring technology.
