The third world is not going to make it

An overlooked fact is that these third world countries have woefully inadequate environmental regulations. Persistent organic pollutants are pollutants that gradually build up in the environment. They accumulate in the fatty tissues of the body and cause birth defects, low sperm counts, and neurological conditions. For thousands of years good governance did not really matter all that much to the survival of the people. Everything was made out of clay pots, wood, iron and materials which were either inert or biodegradable. The exception is lead, which although probably destructive to the Roman empire seems to clear the environment fast enough to not do any permanent damage to the population. Today there are literally thousands of "lead" substances. We are saturated in these chemicals and the third world even more saturated. Already there are entire lands in china and russia which are contaminated with persistent pesticides. Plastic is a huge issue in the poorest countries, especially burning it. There are already rivers of trash. What do you think a few centuries of that does to the survival of a people? It enters the environment and moves of the food chain. Humans are bioaccumulators, that is, a species at the top of the food chain for which pollution concentrates. Good governance is not just a matter of freedom or convenience but of survival of the species. A race that abandons good governance abandons its own survival. Political systems are not just a thing you can just choose on a whim because you feel like it.

This is why I'm convinced that the third world is not going to make it. In the end I don't think birth rates matter nearly as much as whether you keep your environment clean. Have you seen africa? India? The philippines? Russia is heavily polluted but also has millions of acres of land in Siberia to relocate to. Half the world's population lives inside a circle made up of the asian countries with India on the west, north korea in the north, and indonesia in the southeast. Most humans live in these places and these places are most of these places are terribly polluted. The democracies of japan and south korea are the ones keeping their environment clean. 

The world is complicated but sometimes all you need is a single argument to prove your point. There are all kinds of reasons why dictatorship is bad but the most salient of these reasons is that none of them seem to be maintaining their environment. This matters more than you could possibly know. There's no one on earth more black pilled then a person with an environmental science degree. These are the people who study pollution for living, and environmental design is what you study to do something about it.
